Overview
During my IoT technician internship at ORMVA/SM Agadir, I contributed to a telemanagement study and application for irrigation pumping stations.
The goal was reliable remote visibility and control over distributed agricultural assets in the field.
Problem
Pumping stations are geographically spread; manual checks are costly and slow. Operators need trustworthy real-time data and secure remote access.
Approach
- →Authored a 50+ page technical report on architecture, platforms, and integration strategy.
- →Built a React web interface for live monitoring and remote interaction.
- →Compared LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, and 4G LTE for field data backhaul.
- →Defined local/global system diagrams and deployment guidance for sensor pipelines.
Stack
- React
- Node.js
- MQTT
- LoRaWAN
- VPN
- IoT protocols
Outcomes
- Documented deployment playbook for sensor collection and analysis
- Validated protocol choices against coverage and power constraints
- Strengthened full-stack + field engineering coordination skills
